Tips for Mastering Bathroom Design

Follow these tips in your bathroom design:

Tip 1: Define Activity Zones for Key Fixtures

Tip 2: Maintain Proper Spacing Between Fixtures

Tip 3: Balance Functionality with Aesthetic Appeal

Tip 1: Define Activity Zones for Key Fixtures

  • Allocate clear zones around toilets, sinks, and bidets for comfort and usability.
  • Toilets: Minimum clearance of 24 inches (600mm) in front; 64 inches (1630mm) for spacious bathrooms are recommended.
  • Washbasins: Allow 27 inches (685mm) in front and 12 inches (300mm) between double basins.

Tip 2: Maintain Proper Spacing Between Fixtures

  • Prevent overcrowding by ensuring adequate buffer spaces:
  • Between adjacent fixtures (e.g., toilet and bidet): 8 inches (200mm) minimum.
  • For shared bathrooms, avoid overlapping zones to enable fluid movement and functionality.

Tip 3: Balance Functionality with Aesthetic Appeal

  • Combine efficient layouts with sleek, minimalist elements like wall-mounted fixtures to maximize visual openness.
  • Add thoughtful details like mirrors, lighting, and materials to enhance comfort and style.
