Follow these tips for a functional kitchen space in your design:

Tip 1: Optimize the Kitchen Work Triangle
- The sink, stove, and refrigerator should form a compact yet comfortable triangle to minimize movement while cooking.
- Ensure at least 4 feet of clearance between workstations to avoid congestion.
- Position appliances strategically to improve workflow efficiency.

Tip 2: Allow Adequate Clearance for Movement
- Maintain a minimum of 36 inches of aisle space in work areas and 42–48 inches in high-traffic zones.
- Islands should have sufficient space for seating, ensuring at least 15 inches of overhang for comfort.
- Dining and living areas should allow at least 3 feet of clearance around furniture for easy movement.
Tip 3: Balance Aesthetics with Functionality
- Integrate ample storage solutions, such as pantries and built-in cupboards, to keep the space clutter-free.
- Choose light-reflecting colors to create an open feel, especially in compact layouts.
- Align kitchen aesthetics with the overall living area to maintain a seamless flow between spaces.
