Common Bedroom Storage Mistakes
Avoid these bedroom storage mistakes:
Mistake 1: Under-Utilizing Vertical Space
Mistake 2: Overstuffed Closets
Mistake 3: Neglecting Under-Bed Space
Mistake 1: Under-Utilizing Vertical Space
- Many bedrooms ignore the potential of wall spaces, leaving them bare and unused. This results in wasted storage opportunities.
- Install tall bookshelves to make use of the height of your walls.
- Add floating shelves to store decor items or daily essentials while keeping the floor clear.
- Utilize wall-mounted storage units for a sleek and functional look.
Mistake 2: Overstuffed Closets
- Stuffing closets with too many items leads to disorganization and difficulty finding essentials.
- Incorporate closet organizers like shelves, dividers, or hanging racks to maximize space.
- Regularly declutter and remove items you no longer use.
- Use baskets or bins to store smaller items neatly.
Mistake 3: Neglecting Under-Bed Space
- The area under the bed is often left unused, missing valuable storage potential.
- Opt for beds with built-in drawers or under-bed storage compartments.
- Use storage boxes or bins designed to slide under the bed for seasonal items or less frequently used belongings.
- Ensure the storage options are easy to access and convenient to maintain.
